I tried searching for ~*(2).pdf but this did not bring up the desired results. I would like to clarify that the parenthises are required. I have just moved over to a new laptop and ended up duplicating a load of pdf files that ended up with (2).pdf at the end.I wanted to select them all and delete easily and am glad I found this thread. ~ is the literal string indicator and what follows has to match the entire file name that's why the asterisks were included. Also, the quotes are extraneous and can be left off.
